Kent Golf News: August 2026

Kent’s golfers were busy across the county and beyond as July turned to August. A Ryder Cup-winning captain was confirmed for a Legends event at a Kent course, the county’s women stayed in the hunt at the English County Finals, and junior players filled the fairways at Hever Castle. Paul McGinley confirmed for the English Legends at Chart Hills

Paul McGinley, the Ryder Cup-winning captain and four-time DP World Tour winner, has been confirmed for the English Legends event at Chart Hills Golf Club in Kent, staged from 28 to 30 August 2026. McGinley said the Nick Faldo-designed course had a strong reputation and was one he was looking forward to seeing first-hand, and the tournament will give amateurs the chance to play alongside the professionals through its Pro-Am and Legends Experience formats. Kent’s women draw at the English County Finals

Kent’s women’s team drew their day-two match at the English Women’s County Finals, held at Betchworth Park from 28 to 31 July. Kent led 2-1 after the morning foursomes and added singles wins through Dani Thwaites of Tudor Park and Ally Mitchell, plus a half from Nicole Amos of Littlestone, though three of the matches went to the final hole. Juniors turn out for the Invictas Tour at Hever Castle

Kent Golf’s Invictas Tour, its development series for young players, held the third leg of the season at Hever Castle Golf Club on 28 July. Samuel Willis won the 18-hole competition with a gross 86 ahead of Matilda Hearn on 94, while Austin Drake took the 9-hole event on 41, part of a 24-strong field that also tackled driving, chipping and putting challenges.
